Editing Audio Phase 1

Editing Phase 1

As we continue in the production phase, I began working on the first stage of audio editing. For this part of the process, I used a YouTube to MP3 converter to gather specific sound effects that will enhance the realism of our film. These sounds include small but important details such as typing a text message, footsteps, and scuffing sounds while walking.

After collecting these audio clips, I started thinking about where they will fit within the scenes. These sound effects will be layered over the footage to make each moment feel more natural and immersive for the audience. Even though they are subtle, these sounds play a big role in bringing the scenes to life and helping the viewer connect more with the characters.

This phase of audio editing is important because it adds depth to the visuals and strengthens the overall storytelling. As I continue, I plan to carefully match each sound to the actions on screen and adjust timing and volume, so everything flows smoothly and realistically.

Challenges & What I Learned

One challenge I faced during this process was finding the right sound effects that matched the actions on screen. It was important that the sounds felt realistic and not out of place. Another challenge was making sure the timing lined up correctly with the visuals, since even a small delay can make the scene feel unnatural.

Through this process, I learned how important audio is in filmmaking. Before this, I didn’t realize how much small sounds like footsteps or typing can impact the overall quality of a scene. I also improved my skills in layering audio and thinking more carefully about how sound and visuals work together. Moving forward, I will focus on making the audio transitions even smoother and more precise.
